According to Reuters, the Singapore Attorney General’s Office said on August 4 that it will begin the process of suing Li Shengwu, son of Mr. Lee Hsien Yang and grandson of the late Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew, for wrong comments.
Li Shengwu, 32 years old, also the nephew of current Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, declared on Facebook on July 15 that the Singapore government is a `litigation` government, and Singapore’s courts are places `
In the latest announcement, the Singapore Attorney General’s Office said it had asked Li Shengwu to delete comments written on Facebook, and at the same time write a letter of apology and admit that his comments about the Singapore court were baseless.
However, Li did not comply with the above requests before the deadline set on August 4, even though this deadline was postponed from the previous July 28 at Li’s request.
Li Shengwu said yesterday that he had revised his original comment on July 15 on Facebook to clarify misunderstandings surrounding this comment.
Li Shengwu, now a research scholar at Harvard University, also said that he would defend himself through legal representation in Singapore, but had no intention of returning home.
“I have no intention of returning to Singapore.

Li Shengwu’s lawsuit is the latest development in the scandal of the late Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew’s family regarding the fate of the house at 38 Oxley Road.
Mr. Lee Hsien Yang and Ms. Lee Wei Ling accused Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong of abusing his power by violating the will of the late Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew – who expressed his desire to demolish the family’s house after his death.
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong’s siblings said that keeping the house alive would allow Mr Lee and his family to `inherit a tangible monument to Lee Kuan Yew’s power`.
However, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has denied the two children’s accusations.
