On September 19, information about the wedding date of Princess Ayako, the youngest child of the late Prince Takamado – cousin of Emperor Akihito, and her fiance Kei Moriya – an employee of the NYK Line shipping company in Tokyo, was announced.
In particular, the announcement of Princess Ayako’s wedding was announced by a traditional ceremony, called `Kokki no Gi`.
`I agree,` Princess Ayako agreed on September 19 with the proposal from Mr. Tatsuya Kondo, 76 years old, a messenger and a relative of Moriya’s fiance.
The wedding of Princess Ayako and her fiance Moriya will be held at the famous Meiji temple in Tokyo.
A day later, a celebration party with the participation of Crown Prince Naruhito, Crown Princess Masako and Japanese government officials will be held at the New Otani Hotel in Tokyo.
According to Kyodo news agency, the Princess and her fiance are very busy preparing for ceremonies according to Japanese Royal standards as well as preparing for a new apartment and post-marital life.

Princess Ayako was born on September 15, 1990 and is the third daughter of Prince Takamado – who passed away in 2002. She has a great passion for sports such as soccer and skiing.
Princess Ayako graduated from Josai International University in Chiba Prefecture and received a master’s degree in 2016. Princess Ayako is currently working in a research role at the Department of Social Work Studies at Josai International University.
According to Japanese media, Princess Ayako met her fiance through her mother’s matchmaking.
According to Japanese Imperial law, women cannot inherit the throne, and after marrying a commoner, female members of the royal family will also be stripped of their royal positions.
After the wedding of Princess Ayako and her boyfriend Moriya, the number of Japanese Imperial Family members decreased to 17 people and the number of female members was only 12 people.
