The handsome boy tried to grab the head of the Syrian soldier with both hands.
Sydney truck driver Peter Nettleton said his stomach sank when he saw the photo of his nephew holding a human head on the cover of yesterday’s newspaper.
Mr Nettleton is the father-in-law of Australian rebel Khaled Sharrouf.
`I’m very worried about the children,` The Australian quoted Nettleton as saying.
The relationship between Mr. Nettleton and his daughter began to fall apart nine years ago, when she converted to Islam and married her teenage boyfriend, the child of a Lebanese immigrant family.
`Can’t the government do something to free the children from that guy?`, he mentioned his son-in-law.
Sharrouf, 33, has three sons and two daughters.
In the photo, the boy has a handsome face wearing a blue T-shirt and a baseball cap.
His brother, Mostafa Sharrouf, said Australians should `forget` the photo above.
However, when asked about the safety of his grandchildren, Mostafa said `there is nothing to say`.
Sharrouf served four years in prison in 2009 for participating in plans to attack Sydney and Melbourne.
There is a photo showing Sharrouf’s three sons also wearing IS uniforms, holding guns and standing next to their father, in front of the flag of this terrorist organization.
A friend of his said that this gunman never took his children to the battlefield but used the above photos as a form of propaganda to tease non-Muslims.

Australian Muslim community leader Jama Rifi said the photos could only have been taken by `a sick person`.
During his 2009 terrorism trial, authorities discovered that he had not experienced a peaceful childhood when he suffered beatings from his father, used drugs and suffered from paranoia.
Also in court, his wife, Tara Nettleton, testified that their family planned to move to a farm after he was released from prison to `get away from everything and get out of trouble`.
`He often told me that he couldn’t wait to return home, so he could have a chance to take care of his children and make up for lost time,` she said.
Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott yesterday condemned the shocking photo as proof of the barbarity of IS rebels.
There are currently about 160 Australians believed to be in the ranks of Middle Eastern rebels.
