At the online conference to implement the implementation plan for the Vietnam – EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) on August 6, Mr. Vu Tien Loc, Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce & Industry (VCCI) emphasized,
`The EVFTA expressway opens between Vietnam and the EU not only for super-long and super-heavy vehicles but also for small trucks of business households and small and medium-sized enterprises,` VCCI Chairman commented.
Mr. Loc also raised concerns about accessing opportunities from EVFTA regarding the quality of human resources.

Discussing taking advantage of recent FTAs, Mr. Nguyen Hoai Nam – Deputy Secretary General of the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), said that there has been a delay and has not been as expected.
`Each business only cares about what they are doing, so policies guiding the implementation of the EVFTA also need to hit the heart of the business’s wishes,` Mr. Nam suggested.
Giving more specific comments, Mr. Le Tien Truong – General Director of Vietnam Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex) said that the current bottleneck for Vietnamese garments that want to take advantage of tax incentives when entering the EU is to prove their origin.
Recently, textile enterprises have shifted to buying more fabric from these markets, with an estimated proportion of about 25%.
Faced with the above issue, Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh said that this agency is accelerating the negotiation process with Japan and Korea, hoping to issue a circular guiding the recognition of community origin in August.

Reiterating the saying `go fast, go alone, go far, go together`, the Prime Minister emphasized that the business community must link in chains and create competitiveness to effectively take advantage of the opportunities EVFTA brings.
He requested ministers and chairmen of provincial and city People’s Committees to directly direct and prioritize the effective implementation of EVFTA.
