`China has built three air bases, five air defense positions and five heliports near the Line of Actual Control (LAC), the undemarcated border with India since 2017 until now,` the report said.
In the report, author Sim Tack, senior global analyst at Stratfor, said that this effort to strengthen military infrastructure shows a change in China’s policy towards territorial disputes.

The report said that the rapid rise of Chinese military facilities in the disputed area over the past two years has significantly increased tensions with India, leading to clashes in May and the incident.
Based on satellite images and other sources, the report stated that 4 out of 5 new heliports of the Chinese army (PLA) along the LAC were built after clashes in the Ladakh area in early May.
