Chinese bombers are suspected of appearing near India 3
The Weibo account of the Chinese Army Central Theater Command (PLA) on September 8 published photos showing at least three Xi’an H-6 bombers and one Xi’an Y-20 transport aircraft.
The Central Theater Command did not specify the location of the bombers’ deployment, but the terms `plateau` and `high-altitude area` are often used by China to refer to the Tibet autonomous region.
The bombers in the photo may be the Xi’an H-6H variant with a combat range of 2,500 km, and can carry heavy air-to-ground missiles or anti-ship missiles.

The PLA’s Western Theater Command on September 9 announced the organization of a live-fire air defense exercise in the `northwestern desert`, a term that often refers to the Xinjiang autonomous region bordering India’s Ladakh region.
China released information about training sessions, allegedly near the border with India, amid escalating tensions between the two countries.
The news that the PLA Central Theater Command sent troops to the Western Theater Command received special attention from Chinese public opinion.
In June, the PLA Central Theater Command sent many units to the border area, including a paratrooper brigade stationed in Wuhan, Hubei province.

The location of China’s Tibetan plateau is close to the Indian border.
Border tensions between India and China escalated from late April and early May, culminating in a brawl on June 15 that left dozens of soldiers on both sides injured.
The Indian government on August 31 accused China of launching `provocative military activities` three months after `the Chinese army annexed 60 square kilometers of Indian territory in Ladakh`.
Indian police sources said that Indian forces fought for three hours with Chinese soldiers in the narrow Spanggur valley, near Chushul village in eastern Ladakh on August 28.
However, at a press conference on the same day, China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied accusations that its military crossed the LAC, the actual border between the two most populous countries in the world.
