According to Verge, a security vulnerability allows hackers to access users’ Facebook accounts by harvesting their security tokens.
According to a Facebook representative, the problem has been temporarily fixed and the company has also notified law enforcement agencies in the US.
This is also the reason why many Facebook users in the country as well as around the world were kicked out of Facebook and Messenger yesterday afternoon.
Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook continued to `have problems` in 2018.
`On Tuesday, we discovered that attackers exploited a technical vulnerability to steal access tokens that allowed them to log into approximately 50 million user accounts on Facebook,` CEO Mark Zuckerberg wrote in a statement.
This vulnerability comes from Facebook’s View As feature.
In addition to forcing 90 million people to log back in, Facebook said it will temporarily disable the View As feature before a safety review is complete.
