On the morning of October 15, Phan Thi Kieu, 25 years old, wearing a white ao dai, light makeup, shyly walked into the company hall where she and her husband were working.
At 11 am, the projector screen at the company connected to two bridge points in Nghe An, the bride’s house in Hoang Mai town and the groom’s house in Nghia Dan district.
The usual procedures of a wedding, from the bride-begging ceremony, worshiping the ancestors, exchanging wedding rings, and instructions from both families’ parents, all take place via the Zoom application.
`Not being able to return to my hometown, but the company’s thoughtfulness for the wedding, made the self-pity erased by happiness,` bride Phan Kieu choked.
Groom Phan Lich and bride Phan Kieu held an online wedding on the morning of October 15.
Kieu and Lich have been in love for six years, when they were students.
But the epidemic and the prolonged quarantine period made it close to the wedding date and the two were still unable to return to their hometown.
Finally, the young man proposed to hold an online engagement ceremony and wedding and both families agreed.
On the morning of October 13, Lich and Kieu still went to work.
That afternoon, everyone in the company accidentally saw a clip of Lich and Kieu’s online engagement.
The couple shared wedding drinks in front of colleagues and both families via Zoom application.
`Knowing that the two of you could not return to your hometown, the company organized a simple, cozy wedding, but still complied with epidemic prevention regulations to help both of you feel less sorry for yourself,` Ms. Yen said.
`If it weren’t for our colleagues, the couple would probably have attended the online wedding in their motel room,` the groom shared.
The night before the wedding, Mrs. Phan Thi Vaii, 66 years old, the bride’s mother, called her daughter and repeatedly reminded her to `live happily`.
In the moment of sending her youngest daughter off to get married, watching her two children exchange wedding rings, and receiving blessings from relatives and colleagues through the computer screen, the 66-year-old mother quickly wiped away her tears, afraid that her daughter would cry if she saw them again.
`Because I prepared it myself, the organization certainly had shortcomings, but seeing the two of you happy on your wedding day. Receiving many blessings from relatives, I also felt happy,` Ms. Yen Tam
One day soon, the couple hopes to return to their family and hold a wedding celebration party with all their relatives and friends.
