This proposal was stated by the Vietnam Association of Supporting Industries (VASI) in a document sent to the Government and ministries and branches on May 20.
According to VASI Chairman Le Duong Quang, supporting industry enterprises are willing to pay the cost of vaccination for workers if the Government has a policy of socialization, so that vaccination can be deployed early and effectively.
`The biggest wish of supporting industry enterprises right now is for the Government to speed up vaccination deployment and give priority to workers at manufacturing enterprises,` he said.
Supporting industrial enterprises operating in industrial zones are always at risk of spreading epidemics, threatening production disruption and causing great damage to the supply chains of multinational corporations in Vietnam and the entire world.
In fact, many manufacturing enterprises in industrial parks in Bac Giang and Bac Ninh have recorded hundreds of Covid-19 cases, pushing these two localities to become the places with the highest cases in the country.
Doctors at the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City prepare to vaccinate people on the front lines of the epidemic.
In addition, this Association also commented that the authorities need to be consistent in issuing vaccination certificates, such as the issuing agency, form of issuance, there should be a QR code… to ensure good control and convenience for people.
Before businesses in the supporting industry sector, the textile and garment business sector also wants to be supported with vaccination.
With the current vaccine supply, 11 groups of people are given priority for vaccination, including medical staff, staff involved in epidemic prevention (steering committees at all levels, quarantine area staff, reporters…);
To ensure community immunity, Vietnam needs to have 80% of the population vaccinated.
According to calculations by the Ministry of Health, Vietnam needs to buy 150 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine to vaccinate about 75 million people, with a total cost of about 25,200 billion VND.
To buy vaccines, the central budget is expected to allocate about 16,000 billion VND, the local budget will spend and mobilize contributions from businesses and organizations about 9,200 billion VND.
