The Miss Universe Vietnam semi-finals took place on November 4 amid storms and floods that caused public opinion to rise.

According to Mr. Bien, the Ministry of Culture did its responsibility when licensing the competition, while the main responsibility for monitoring and managing activities belongs to the Department of Culture of Khanh Hoa province.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is waiting for the results of reports from relevant units and authorities as well as the inspection results of the Department of Performing Arts and Ministry Inspectorate.

Mr. Vuong Duy Bien affirmed that in the face of natural disasters, storms and floods, the locality can completely stop entertainment activities because this is prescribed by law.

Previously, the Department of Performing Arts, the People’s Committee and the Department of Culture and Sports of Khanh Hoa requested to stop organizing the semi-finals of Miss Universe Vietnam because of storms.
The semi-finals still took place, an hour late because of a power outage caused by the storm.
Representative of the organizing committee – Mr. Tran Ngoc Nhat – said that before and during the semi-final night, the organizing committee received a request to stop entertainment activities to prevent storms and floods from the Khanh Hoa Department of Culture.
